The lake got its name from the name of the Sage Bhrigu. The villagers claim that Sage Bhrigu used to meditate next to the lake, which is how the lake earned its name.
With each passing season, the captivating lake’s colors change, adding to its spectacular grandeur. It turns emerald green in the late summer and turns blue in the summer, which is a beautiful sight to witness.
The trek takes you through Rola Kholi. Further, you will proceed to Gulaba, a village covered in snow blankets. You’ll pass through pristine forests and verdant, luscious landscapes.

If you are interested in witnessing snow, consider this trek around mid April. However, the greatest time to experience the Bhrigu Trek is thought to be between the months of June and May, when there is typically less snow, which makes the area even more accessible to travelers.
The Bhrigu Lake Trek is of easy to moderate difficulty level. Including some steep ascents, this trek can be easily completed by the first timers.

How to Reach?
By Road: The quickest and most economical way to get to Manali. Manali is accessible by road from several locations, including Delhi (540 km), Chandigarh (305 km), Dehradun (227 km), and Ambala (370 km).
By Train: The closest railway station to Manali is Jogindernagar. Other train routes to Manali include those through Chandigarh and Ambala.
By Air: The nearest airport is Bhuntar airport, 10 km from Manali. Cabs and local buses are easily available from Bhuntar to Manali.

Upon arrival at the campsite in Manali, there will be a briefing for trekkers. Drive to Gulaba, which is the starting point of the trek, will start after picking up the packed lunch. You will initially be walking through a dense forest up to Gulaba, and then the trek will emerge into a green wide meadow. You will be surrounded by mesmerizing scenery of the soaring Himalayas, including the Hanuman Tibba Peak, the Seven Sisters, etc. as you stroll through the wide meadow. Further, you will enter the Roli Kholi, the first campsite, by continuing your journey just a short distance through a forest. Tents will be distributed at the campsite, and dinner will be given. Reaching your campsite in Roli kholi, you will be assigned tents. At the campsite, dinner will be provided at night, followed by an overnight stay there.
Get up early in the morning to enjoy a stunning sunrise while eating breakfast. After carrying your packed lunch, you’ll start the hike. You will hike over some high plateaus above the Kullu Valley and beautiful ridges today as you make your way to the revered Bhrigu Lake. The 3hr trek will take us to Bhrigu Lake, where you’ll have your lunch by the lake. Spend some time sitting next to this holy lake and take in the expansive sights of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar hills that are right there in front of you. There should be caution taken to prevent littering, and swimming in this revered lake is prohibited. Several traditions claim that Rishi Bhrigu meditated here, making it a hallowed location for many. We will descend to the Moridogu campsite after lunch and unwind there for the rest of the day, then hike back to Roli Kholi base camp and spend the night there.
After breakfast, we'll hike directly to Kulang. The walk is simple because it descends gradually the entire way and can be completed in 3–4 hours to reach Kulang. Your experience comes to a close when a vehicle returns you to Manali from Kulang village. Head home with wonderful memories of this magnificent trekking adventure.
